General Meeting - Wednesday, 3 February 2010

NOTE - Location for the monthly general meeting has changed!!!

The key topic for this month's meeting is our upcoming HRC Hunt Test in Angleton.  We still have slots to fill with volunteers and really need your help.  Even if you're not a member yet, or have never been to a hunt test, we could use you.  We'll give you plenty of instruction and help, so come on out.  For more information about the hunt test, scroll down to the bottom of this page.

Our general meeting will again be at Harris County Smokehouse this month.  The address is:

Harris County Smokehouse is located on the opposite side of FM1960 from Gander Mountain.  It is between the La Quinta Inn Motel and the Shell Station.  Meeting time is still 7:00pm.  Clint Zentic will be leading a discussion about our HRC hunt test on Feb. 6th & 7th.  Visitors and guests are strongly encouraged to attend.  Please come out, introduce yourself and see what we have to offer you and your dogs.  This a great time to meet some of our members and find out when and where we will be out working our dogs.

Tejas Training Day - Saturday, 20 February 2010

Business Meeting - Wednesday, 24 February 2010

Business meetings are typically held on the last Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm at the Gander Mountain located at the corner of Hwy 6 and 290 (map).  All current club members are encouraged to attend.  We will be discussing plans for club events taking place through out the spring and summer.

Weekly Training Sessions

If you're looking for a group training session, come out with us every Saturday morning.  Members of Tejas HRC  meet every Saturday morning at either the Retriever Training Area in George Bush Park (GBP) or our club training grounds.  See the Schedule of Events.  The GBP training area consists of the pond and the area immediately surrounding the pond underneath the large electrical transmission line tower in George Bush Park.  It's directly across the road from the entrance to American Shooting Centers.  The club grounds are located near I-10 (Katy Freeway) and Highway 6.  Members may contact a club officer for a map, Liability Waiver, and gate access.  Training day exceptions are formal club training days and other special club events.  We hope to see you this Saturday.

As it is currently hunting season, most of our members are hunting on Saturday mornings.  Expect to see more participation in these weekly sessions in February as hunting season ends and test season approaches.

HRC Hunt Test - 6 & 7 February 2010

Our HRC test is this weekend!!  Tejas will be hosting a two day test near Angleton on Feb. 6 & 7.  We need plenty of volunteers to help out at this event.  If you can participate, please email Clint Zentic at President@TejasHRC.org.  The hunt test is at the Dumesnil Rice Farm just north of Angleton on Hwy 288.  Entries on HuntSecretary.com are closed, but you can mail entries to HuntSecretary.com, P.O. AKC Hunt Test - 1 & 2 May 2010

Our AKC test is approaching as well and will be here before we know it.  The test will once again be at Red Dog Ranch near Giddings, TX.  Entries will be available through Entry Express.  Check back here for details.
